Welcome to Just Walk Out reporting
Overview
Amazon provides merchants with multiple methods to access and integrate their store-specific data offering enhanced flexibility to accommodate diverse business requirements. By allowing merchants to choose their preferred mode and frequency for receiving reporting data, businesses can customize their data access approach to align with their specific operational needs.
Reporting mode considerations
Below are a set of common considerations to guide which solution is best fit for your organization. It is recommended that you follow your organization reporting and data ingestion guidelines and practices. For more information on reporting modes, see the data exchange option section here
1) Frequency of data refresh: Stay current with flexible data refresh schedules that match your business rhythm. Choose from daily updates, hourly updates, or custom frequencies to match your specific needs.
For example, if you're running a time-sensitive sales event, frequent data updates help you track inventory in near real-time, allowing you to monitor sold items throughout the event, make timely restocking decisions, and maintain optimal inventory levels.
2) Scale considerations: When considering scale, your specific use case will guide your choice of solution. For single-merchant, one-off implementations, the intra-day option is often the best fit, though it requires a more involved setup process in collaboration with Amazon.
However, if you're planning to manage multiple merchants or aggregate data across several accounts, the event-based solution offers significant advantages. It streamlines the onboarding process, reducing friction and complexity, and provides greater flexibility for adding new merchants over time. This scalability makes the event-based approach particularly well-suited for growing businesses or those managing a diverse portfolio of merchant accounts.
3) Data ingestion interface: Your existing data infrastructure should inform your choice of data ingestion interface. The Intra-Day reporting is particularly well-suited for organizations that have already invested in CSV-based data ingestion platforms. If you have built an API or JSON format interface for your data ingestion, then the Event-feed soluion may be a better fit as it offers multiple integration modes. Considering your current ingestion requirements will ensure seamless integration with your current systems and minimizes additional development work or infrastructure changes.
Merchant portal
Today, Amazon JWO team curates a set of reports that includes Orders, Catalog and Payments transactions made available to merchants through the JWO self-service portal on a daily/weekly cadence.
Daily reports capture transactions from the previous day and typically delivered to the portal by 5 AM PST. These reports are then manually downloaded by merchants who use them to gain insights into overall business trends and help make data driven decisions. In some instances, they support store operations leveraging these reports. For full list of available reports see here
Dashboard is accessible in the merchant portal and refreshes data every 30 minutes. The sales details and item details are available for export, for more information click here
